Make a Yummy Gingerbread Man Holiday Card:

This project was based on using the cut-out left over from this Iris Folding Project if you carefully cut out the aperture using a craft knife and cutting board. Poor little fellow, someone took a bite out of him!
Start with a 5 inch by 7 inch blank white greeting card to make this project or fold your own from a 10 inch by 7 inch piece of white card stock. Next, cut a piece of green card stock that is 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. This will be mounted to the front of your card after you have made the gingerbread man.
Cut the gingerbread man from brown card stock. If you are using the left-overs from the gingerbread man iris folding project, just cut trim off the bitten off portion of his leg. Add icing to his remaining 3 limbs by using ric-rac or paper cut with pinking shears. Glue in place. Ric Rac can be purchased inexpensively at most craft stores that carry sewing supplies.
Draw his face using a black paint pen or marker. A hole puncher can be used to make his mouth. Either punch a hole in the brown card stock and tape a piece of black paper on the opposite side to cover the opening or punch a hole from black paper and glue that to the front of your project. The buttons can also be made using a hole punch, or use real buttons.
There are also two options for making the hat. You can cut the entire hat from red card stock then use wite-out or white paint to cover the areas that should be white, or, you can cut each segment separately from white and red card stock then piece them together with glue on top of the gingerbread man's head.
To finish the card, cut a piece of card stock that is one inch by 3/4 inch and glue that to the bottom of the card. Glue one of the available greetings on top of that.
Have fun with this project! Use textured paper for the gingerbread man and hat, add extra embellishments, or leave him unbitten with a smile on his face!
