For this project, start with a 5" X 7" blank greeting card or fold your own from a 10" X 14" piece of cardstock(A-see photo below). We used a blank dark blue card for the first card and a blank cream colored 5" X 7" card for the second card. Now cut a piece of card stock that is 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches for the card front(B). We used light purple/blue for the first card and light green for the second.
For this project you will also need double sided foam mounting tape(C) or pop-dots(D), blue painters tape(E), a piercing tool or thumb tack that you can grasp(F), and a foam pad to use as a piercing surface or the wrong side of a mouse pad also works(G). Also scissors or a craft knife and cutting board, double sided tape, glue, and the printables provided. Carefully cut out each of the 3 pictures in the 3D decoupage printables. You don't need to cut out the border pattern.

We're going to start with the paper piercing border for this project. When printing the border pattern, it should measure 4.5 by 6.5 inches, the same size as the peice you cut for the card front(B in the picture above). Take your piercing tool or thumb tack and poke 4 holes in each corner of the border pattern. This will act as a guide for the next step. Turn the pattern over and you will see the 4 corners you marked. Take the 4.5 by 6.5 piece of card stock and temporarily tape it in place with blue painters tape, line up the 4 corners of the card stock with the 4 holes you made.

After taping down the piece of card stock, turn it over and start poking holes according to the pattern. But first, place a foam pad or wrong side of a mouse pad under the pattern and card stock as padding. This picture shows poking the holes using a thumb tack, beneath the pattern is the card stock, beneath that is a foam pad.

When you get done poking all the holes, turn it over and it should look something like this. Look to see if you missed any holes then go back if needed to get the ones you missed, it's easy to miss a couple. If you look carefully at the picture below you can see where we lined up the 4.5 by 6.5 piece of cardstock with the holes we made in the corners of the pattern. You can also see the blue painters tape we used to temporarily hold it in place. Don't use too much tape because you will need to poke through the tape when you are doing the paper piercing. If your needle or thumb tack gets sticky from the tape, you can clean it with rubbing alcohol.

Another option is to poke some of the holes in one direction, then flip the card stock over and poke some of the holes in the opposite direction. We did this for the first card example with the bunnies. In the close-up below, you can see how the flowers are poked out and the lines poked in. As long as the card stock is the same color on both sides you can just do them in opposite directions then pick the side you like better.

Look at both sides of the card stock you pierced and decide which side you want to use for the front and which for the back that will not show. On the back, use double sided tape to line the edges of the card stock along with a strip down the middle then adhere it to the front of your blank 5 by 7 inch greeting card.
Now it's time to start on the 3D decoupage portion of this card. On the printables each cut out is labeled piece one, piece two and piece 3. Piece one gets glued to your card front first. Turn piece two over and cover it with bits of double sided foam tape. Keep the foam pads at least slightly away from the edges. Now line this up with the first image and adhere it to your project.

Repeat the same step with piece 3.

After lining up piece 3 with the previous pieces, at an angle, the card should look something like this. Add extra decorations if you'd like.
