This Valentine's Day card is relaxing to make. For this project you will need embroidery thread(or substitute gold or other metallic thread) and a needle, small beads, card stock, and any embellishments you want to use to further decorate the card.
Start with a piece of red card stock that is 10" X 14" and fold it in half or use a pre-folded 5" X 7" blank greeting card. Now cut out a piece of pink card stock that is 4.5" X 6.5" . You may want to use fancy scissors for this.
Print the pattern and center it on the front of your pink card stock. You may want to temporarily adhere it with removable painter's tape so it doesn't slip. Next you will be poking holes in your piece of card stock where indicated on the pattern. You will need a soft surface like craft foam or the wrong side of a computer mouse pad to place beneath the card stock and pattern when poking the holes. You can use a needle to poke the holes but a thumb tack, the kind that you can grip, works much better. If using a needle, you may need to wrap something around the " eye" end of the needle to help you grip it while making the holes. After all the holes have been poked in your pink card stock, set the pattern aside.
You may now want to write a " B" on the back of your piece of card stock with the punched holes so you can make sure you are always working on the correct side. Thread your needle and working on the back, push the needle through the first hole in the top left corner. Tape the end of the thread to the back of your card so it doesn't pull all the way through the first hole.

Now turn it over to the front and slip 2-4 beads(depending on their size) over the tip of the needle and down the thread to add them.

Now poke the needle through the second hole(working to the left when looking at the front), bringing your needle and thread to the back of the card stock again.

Looking at the back, move on to the third hole and continue this all the way around. Each time the thread is on the front, add 2 or more beads. When working on the back, just move on to the next hole.
When you get to the corners, two spaces in a row will be threaded with beads on the front, so you will need to go back through the corner hole again after you've turned the corner. The same thing applies when you get to the areas on the heart marked with white X's below:

If you run out of thread as you are going along, just tape down the first piece and start again with a new strand of thread.

After finishing the border, start on the heart. It's easiest to either start where shown below or at the bottom tip of the heart.

Continue around the heart until the entire design is threaded and beaded. Tape down the last strand of thread. Using permanent glue or double sided tape, adhere the beaded pink card stock to the front of your red folded card. Embellish as desired.
